Boost your web traffic with Article Marketing
This post is part of my series of posts based on ways to increase web traffic for your website or blog for free. In my previous article I focused on How to increase web traffic from Search Engines. In this article we will take up next in the list: Article marketing.
Article Marketing is nothing but promoting your product or website or blog or your expertise by writing useful, content rich and educational articles and allowing others to use them in their email newsletters, print media, promotional materials, etc., for free by submitting your articles to free article directories, ezine editors and other marketing groups.
Even though this practice is little old it has become hot recently due to increased use of Internet,email,Newsletters by businesses, marketers, Bloggers to build better relationship with their target customers.
Today it is widely accepted that in order to boost web traffic to your website or blog article marketing is one of the best methods and has significant advantages as listed below:
1.Expertise: It proves your expertise in your chosen area. This will make the readers to visit your website or blog for more information either now or in future. But remember, for this you need to churn out good quality content in your articles which makes the readers to visit your website or blog for more.
2.Resource Box: Resource box is a small box at the end of your article where you will give your short bio and about your website or blog inside it. This is most important element of your article because this introduces you to your reader and you need to make sure you grab the attention of your reader with it. Your resource box should not contain any ads but must tell you what you offer on your website or blog which is useful to your reader. This is important as this will make the reader to click the link pointing to your website. You can also include an affiliate link which takes him directly to the affiliate website but ensure it is not a pure advertisement based website as this turn off your reader instantly. As you will providing a resource box at the bottom of your article with a link pointing to your website or blog, over the time, you will be getting quality inbound links from those established websites (read here Article directories). 3.Better Ranking: Also it is known fact that Search engines love old websites rather than the new websites. It takes some time for the new websites to show up in the search results for some keywords. Therefore associating yourself with old websites i.e., article directories will help you to appear fast and high in the search results for the keywords in your articles.
4.Free Publicity: If the articles you have written are interesting and educational, more people will use those articles in their newsletters, websites, blogs giving you more publicity for free as it is mandatory to provide your details (at least your name and your website link) at the end of the article.
5.More popularity: If your article is picked up by a well-known publisher, then your article and your details will circulate among thousands of web users increasing your popularity and thus traffic to your website or blog.
6.Free Targeted customers: Another advantage of the above one is you will have targeted customers for free who want to have more information of your product or service which are hard to find unless you spend money to attract such traffic.
7.More potential for money: If you have good number of visitors visiting to you website or blog, you are better placed to make money from them.
The articles you want to write about must be related to your topic of website or blog. There are number of article directories where you can publish your articles for free. The few most popular are EzineArticles.com,ArticleBase.com,Articlecity.com, etc. I normally submit my articles in first two article directories as they have large reader base and it is just not worth spending my time on submitting to all directories.
